Our first visit to Hever Festival Open-Air Theatre was on Friday 31st May to see Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense performed by The Little Bromley Theatre Company. The three members of the cast were kept on their toes producing this humours production. A very welcome Cream Tea followed.

Ron with the winner’s trophy

On Saturday 25th May eight golf croquet players competed for the Tankard. An enjoyable day was had by all after a disappointing start when one of the entrants failed to attend. The non – playing manager stepped in to play and she would like to thank the competitors for all their help during the day. After seven hard fought fifty minute rounds Ron was presented with the Tankard Trophy for winning seven out of eight games.

The team doubles was played over two days 18/19th  May at Southwick. Overall we did not cover ourselves in glory but can report that two of our players beat two of the players from Medway, the winners of the event!

Six rounds of seven point Golf Doubles with a change of partner each round were played on Tuesday 14th May. Congratulations to Gwyneth a delighted and surprised winner who said that she had previously won the Booby prize twice and at last had come first, Sylvia received a small bottle of wine as the not so lucky player.

Anyone for dessert ?

A morning of Golf Croquet followed by the annual Ploughman’s Lunch took place at the Bowls Pavilion on Friday 12th April. The lunch was delicious as were the home made desserts provided by some of the members. Association croquet was played throughout the afternoon.

Start of the Golf Season

Monday 1st April (All Fools Day) saw the Golf Season start off with a bang. Twenty one players attended making us well over subscribed. Two possible new members were given a taster of the game during the afternoon. Tea and cakes were well received to celebrate the start of the Golf Season

Start of Association Season 2019

Just eleven eager players turned up for the first session of the season on Sunday 31st March. The weather had sadly turned cold but there was no rain. As always at the start of the season the lawn proved to be heavy but with a little practice balls were arriving where they were aimed. Our numbers swelled at tea time to sixteen for tea and cake to celebrate the start of the season.
The numbers dropped to five for the final session – too cold.
